Hello, I'm Idril and I shall be co-writing a fanfiction called "Of Night and Light" with my friend goodbutfallen. It's based in the Harry Potter world (but had nothing to do with him, thankfully) and is mostly set in the Marauders' Era/First War. We decided to write this story after staying up ALL night to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and then were utterly disappointed upon reaching the end at about noon. So we were very angry and very sleep deprived and thought, let's sleep and then write a really good fanfiction so that we can love our favorite characters again.
So naturally, we spent the next twenty-four hours or so, researching our timeline and reviewing the characters. Then we came up with our own plots and such and divided up the characters. I will be writing from Sirius, Severus, and Lily's points of view. She will be writing Remus, James, and Peter's points of view.
Next we had to decide what Sirius would say in his speech at the Potters' wedding. We spent a long time thinking about poems and sonnets until it suddenly hit me. He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven is PERFECT poem for Remus to have told Sirius once (I love my English teacher for making us memorize a hundred lines of poetry two years ago). It was also one that was quite easy for a slightly drunken Sirius to completely mess up and such. At any rate, Yeats is amazing for writing that poem. Also, yesterday, while reading the Shoebox Project, I noticed that one line from that poem is used by James on Remus' advice. I swear we did not steal our idea from there, it's all Mr. Harris and Sean Bean in Equilibrium's fault for my knowledge of this poem. That is however, a brilliant story, which everyone should go read.
